St Charles Market Condo Ottawa is a new development by Modbox in Ottawa’s Beechwood neighborhood. This low-rise building will contain 38 condominium units. St Charles Market Condo Ottawa is being built on a historic site wrapped around the St. Charles Church (1908). The church closed its doors in 2011. With architecture by Ottawa firm, Linebox Studio, the development will feature modern town homes and stacked condo residences. Composed of both residential and commercial spaces, the property will include residences, workplaces, restaurants and a seasonal marketplace.The projects goal is to create an intimate village-within-a-village. For more than 100 years this site has been a gathering place for many communities. The former church with its landmark bell tower will remain at the heart of this development. The interior of the church has been restored to accommodate a year round market which features many local vendors as well as cafes and restaurants. There is a beautiful public space outside of the market consisting of a sculpture garden, seasonal al fresco market, patios, and public seating areas.
