Daly Square Condo Ottawa Neighbourhood Guide
Daly Square Condo Ottawa is located in Sandy Hill. Sandy Hill’s proximity to the large shopping areas, Byward Market and the Rideau Centre. On its eastern edge lies Strathcona Park. Located just moments away from Ottawa’s most popular attractions. Visit museums, head to parliament hill or take a walk by the Rideau Canal. You’ll be sure to enjoy your free time in the neighbourhood. Sandy Hill dates back to the 1870s. Prior to Rockcliffe Park, Sandy Hill was the wealthiest and most prestigious neighbourhood in the Ottawa area up until the early 20th century. Sandy Hill is often divided into four areas. North Sandy Hill consists of the area north of Laurier Avenue. This part is much older and many of its buildings date back to the nineteenth century. The area is subject to the influences of more recent developments of Rideau Street. South of Laurier is South Sandy Hill. The far south of the neighbourhood below Mann Avenue is known as Strathcona Heights.
It is a diverse neighbourhood of young and old, rich and poor. Very wealthy people live near the embassies of the Rideau River, but closer to the university, there are more students, senior citizens, and new immigrants with more diversified income levels. A mixture of different nationalities is increased all the embassies around.
Sandy Hill is fast-paced in the student neighbourhoods but calm and quaint in the family areas. Head to all the local restaurants and cafes for great meals. Lots of amenities within walking distance, however, easy access to public transit anytime.
